Round-up: The Premier League's weekend action began with two Friday night fixtures, with the action beginning at Carrow Road as Norwich City hosted Southampton. After a goalless first half, Southampton took the lead five minutes into the second half thanks to a goal from striker Danny Ings. The lead was then doubled 5 minutes later thanks to a goal from Stuart Armstrong, before Nathan Redmond wrapped up the victory 11 minutes from time - in a result which hugely dents Norwich City's survival prospects. The action continued with an extremely keenly-anticipated clash between José Mourinho's Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United. In the end, neither side could claim three vital points in the race for Champions League football as the sides shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw. Tottenham Hotspur took the lead in the 27th minute thanks to a goal from Steven Bergwijn, though it was an extremely poor goal to concede from a Manchester United point of view and many would argue that goalkeeper David de Gea should have saved the shot. United had most of the ball, but were too slow in moving it around and struggled to break the hosts down. That said, there was an improvement in the second half and the introduction of Paul Pogba from the bench made a huge difference for United, and Pogba won a penalty in the 81st minute after some brilliant play which saw him skip past Eric Dier who fouled the Frenchman, and Bruno Fernandes calmly converted the resulting spot kick. Bruno Fernandes did go down in the penalty area in the 90th minute which led to referee Jon Moss awarding a penalty, however, the VAR correctly ruled that Dier had not fouled the Portuguese, and in the end the sides had to settle for a point each.
