Round-up:
In the early kick-off in League 1, in a match involving two massive clubs in the division, Sunderland and Portsmouth, it was the Black Cats after coming from behind to earn their first league win of the season. Marcus Harness gave Portsmouth the lead in the 22nd minute, before Jordan Willis equalised just 5 minutes later for Sunderland, and 12 minutes later Chris Maguire scored Sunderland's second goal which was to prove the winner.
It has been an impressive start to the season for Blackpool, who have made it three wins out three league games this season, after they won 2-1 at home to Oxford United thanks to goals from Ryan Edwards and Armand Gnanduillet from the penalty spot. Another team who have made an impressive start to the new season are newly-promoted Lincoln City, who are the only other team to still have made a 100% start after the opening 3 games, after they trashed Southend United, the only side without a point after 3 games, 4-0 thanks to goals from Jason Shackell, Harry Toffolo, Tyler Walker from the penalty spot and Bruno Andrade. However, Fleetwood Town were unable to maintain their 100% start to the season as they fell to a 3-2 defeat away to Doncaster Rovers after a 90th-minute own goal from Wes Burns. Despite facing many off-the-pitch problems and not playing at home in their own stadium, Coventry City have made an impressive start to the season, and won today 2-0 at 'home' to Bristol Rovers thanks to goals from Jordan Shipley and Gervane Kastaneer. Tranmere Rovers have finally got off the mark, and in impressive fashion too, as they resoundingly beat financially hamstrung Bolton Wanderers by 5 goals to nil. After they come from behind to lead 2-1, Peterborough United were unable to earn their first win of the season, as Ipswich Town scored a 90th-minute equaliser through Luke Chambers. Wycombe Wanderers have also made a very impressive start to the season, as they scored a 90th-minute winner through David Wheeler to beat newly-promoted Milton Keynes Dons 3-2. Elsewhere, Rotherham United bounced back from their defeat to Lincoln City last week by beating Burton Albion 1-0 away from home thanks to a own goal from Burton goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara, whilst Shrewsbury Town and Rochdale played out a goalless draw, and AFC Wimbledon and Accrington Stanley also took a share of the spoils as they drew 1-1.
