Round-up: In today's early kick-off, Leeds United, who last week convincingly beat Bristol City, were held to a 1-1 draw by Nottingham Forest. Leeds missed many chances earlier on in the game, mainly through Patrick Bamford, before then Pablo Hernandez gave them the lead. Lewis Grabban ensured Nottingham Forest would get their first points of the season with a scrappy equaliser in the 77th minute, ensuring a share of the spoils for both sides. Sheffield Wednesday, who are still without a permanent manager as Mark Bullen is still currently in caretaker charge, continued their good start to the season by beating newly-promoted Barnsley 2-0 thanks to goals from Jacob Murphy, recently signed on loan from Newcastle, and Steven Fletcher. Charlton Athletic, under the impressive management of Lee Bowyer who is working on a tiny budget, recorded a remarkable 3-1 win over Stoke City to maintain their 100% start to the season thanks to goals from Lyle Taylor, Chuks Aneke and Conor Gallagher. Queens Park Rangers ensured that Huddersfield Town's wait for an away win would go on a bit longer as captain Grant Hall equalised seven minutes from time to cancel out Karlan Grant's penalty. Derby County and Swansea City could not be separated as they played out a goalless draw, with Derby striker Martyn Waghorn having a penalty saved by Swansea goalkeeper Freddie Woodman. Birmingham City could not extend their 100% record as Bristol City's Tommy Rowe levelled in the 83rd minute to cancel out Lukas Jutkiewicz's opener. Millwall and West Bromwich Albion, both of whom began the season with a victory, could not be separated as Matt Smith spared Alex Pearce's blushes after the latter had scored an own goal to give West Brom the lead.

Cardiff City bounced back from their opening day defeat to Wigan by scoring a 96th minute winner through debutant Isaac Vassell after it looked like Matt Pearson was going to earn the Hatters a point after his equaliser 4 minutes from time following Aden Flint's opener for the Bluebirds. Brentford also bounced back from an opening day defeat, as they won 1-0 away to Middlesbrough, who had a goal disallowed in the first half, thanks to a goal from Ollie Watkins. Fulham avenged their defeat against newly-promoted Barnsley by beating Blackburn Rovers 2-0 thanks to goals from Tom Cairney and Aleksandar Mitrovic. Hull City and Preston North End also bounced back from defeats on the opening weekend, as they beat Reading (who are without a point) and Wigan Athletic 2-1 and 3-0 respectively.
