Round-up:

The Bundesliga action for the weekend began on Friday night with Schalke 04 hosting Mainz 05, and the home side eventually came out on top in a slender victory. Schalke went in front in the 36th minute thanks to midfielder Suat Serdar, before that was cancelled out sixteen minutes from time thanks to striker Karim Onisiwo, on as a substitute. It looked like the two sides would have to take a share of the spoils, until French-born Moroccan midfielder Amine Harit stepped up to score for Schalke in the 89th minute which also helped them secure 3 successive wins under the management of David Wagner. The action continued on Saturday, as reigning champions Bayern Munich recorded a comfortable 4-0 win over Bundesliga.2 champions 1.FC Köln. The Bavarian side went in front after just 3 minutes thanks to in-form striker Robert Lewandowski. Lewandowski then bagged his second goal of the game 3 minutes after half-time, before Köln were then reduced to 10 men as Kingsley Ehizibue was shown a straight red card for a last man foul on Phillipe Coutinho in the penalty area which inevitably led to a penalty being awarded, and Coutinho himself stepped up to convert it. The win was then wrapped up in the 73rd minute thanks to Ivan Perisic's second league goal of the season. Bayer Leverkusen bounced back from their trashing away at Dortmund last week, which was followed by a midweek defeat in the Champions League at home to Lokomotiv Moscow, by beating 1.FC Union Berlin 2-0 thanks to goals from Kevin Volland and Lucas Alario, whilst Union Berlin were also reduced to 10 men as Sebastian Polter was shown a straight red card. SC Freiburg were held to a 1-1 draw at home to struggling Augsburg, as Lucas Holer's 23rd minute strike for the hosts was cancelled out by Florian Niederlechner a quarter of an hour later. Hertha Berlin earned their first win of the season as they claimed a 2-1 win at home to newly-promoted SC Paderborn 07, who themselves remain winless after five games and lie bottom of the table. Hertha Berlin took the lead after ten minutes thanks to former Manchester City youngster Javairo Dilrosun, before this was doubled seven minutes into the second half through Marius Wolf. Paderborn responded just two minutes later thanks to a goal from Ben Zolinski, but it was not enough as the hosts held on for the win. In the late evening kick-off, RB Leipzig maintained their hold of top spot as they recorded an impressive 3-0 win away to Werder Bremen. It took them just 13 minutes to open the scoring and they did so thanks to Hungarian defender Willi Orban, before the lead was doubled ten minutes from half-time thanks to forward Marcel Sabitzer's first league goal of this season. RB Leipzig were then reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute as Konrad Leimer was shown his second yellow card of the match, though it was they who bagged the next goal as seven minutes from time Marcelo Saracchi wrapped up the win.
