Round-up:

In what was one of the key matches this weekend, Norwich City maintained top spot after beating play-off contenders Bristol City by 3 goals to 2, after twice coming from behind. Jamie Paterson gave Bristol the lead after 12 minutes, before Kenny McLean equalised - though that leveller lasted for just a minute, as Calum O'Dowda restored Bristol City's lead. Ben Godfrey levelled the game once again, before McLean got his second goal to seal a 3-2 win. Leeds United also won after beating second from bottom Bolton Wanderers thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford (via the penalty spot) and Ezgjan Alioski, after Mark Beevers equalised for Bolton in between the two Leeds goals. Middlesbrough made it back-to-back wins after earning their first home win in 2019 by beating Queens Park Rangers 2-0 through goals from Jonny Howson and Ashley Fletcher, meaning QPR have lost their last 7 consecutive Championship matches, and are winless since Boxing Day when they beat bottom side Ipswich Town 3-0. Speaking of Ipswich Town, they seemed set to be heading for victory away to Wigan Athletic despite playing for over an hour in 10 men, but Joe Garner equalised for Wigan Athletic in the 91st minute after Will Keane gave Ipswich the lead thanks to a penalty in the 32nd minute. Milwall suffered a humbling 3-1 defeat at home to Preston North End after goals from Andrew Hughes, Tom Clarke and Sean Maguire. Neither of the teams just below, Reading and Rotherham United, were able to take advantage as they played out a 1-1 draw at the Madejski Stadium, after Ovie Ejaria's strike for Reading was cancelled out by Semi Ajayi. Brentford came from behind to beat Hull City 5-1 thanks to a hat-trick from Said Benrahma, as well as goals from Neal Maupay and Kamohelo Mokotjo. Birmingham City and Blackburn Rovers played out a 2-2 draw, a result which ends Blackburn's losing run. Stoke City's winless run in the League extended to 6 consecutive matches, after they were held to a 1-1 draw by Aston Villa after Albert Adomah cancelled out Sam Vokes' early strike for Stoke City. Sheffield Wednesday maintained Steve Bruce's unbeaten start after beating Swansea City 3-1.

In the evening kick-off, Sheffield United gave their automatic promotion hopes a massive boost after beating fellow promotion rivals West Bromwich Albion 1-0 at The Hawthorns thanks to a goal from Kieran Dowell, making it six consecutive matches unbeaten for Sheffield United.
