Round-up:
In today's early kick-off, Manchester United moved into top 4 places for the first time since August 10th after a resounding 3-0 victory over second-bottom Fulham. Paul Pogba gave the Red Devils the lead in the 14th minute after a good finish at the near post, though it could be argued that goalkeeper Sergio Rico should have saved it and was at fault. Anthony Martial doubled the lead 9 minutes later with a composed finish in the bottom corner. United were awarded a penalty in the second half, their 9th of the season (more than any other team) after Fulham defender Maxime Le Marchand naively fouled Mata - which Pogba converted emphatically.
Liverpool reclaimed top spot, at least until tomorrow, after beating AFC Bournemouth 3-0 at Anfield. Sadio Mané gave them the lead on 24 minutes, with Georginio Wijnaldum doubling the lead 10 minutes later. Mo Salah wrapped up the win in the second half in the 48th minute. Bottom side Huddersfield Town cannot seem to find a point from anywhere, after they lost 2-1 at home to Arsenal. Alex Iwobi gave the Gunners the lead in the 16th minute, with Alexandre Lacazette scoring again right before half-time. Huddersfield Town were at least able to score a goal, or be it thanks to an Arsenal player in Sead Kolasinac who scored an own goal. Cardiff City moved out of the relegation zone at Southampton's expense, after they beat the South Coast side 2-1 in a dramatic match. Sol Bamba gave the Bluebirds the lead in the 69th minute, whilst Jack Stephens equalised for Southampton in the 91st minute. It seems like the Saints had rescued a point, but it was not to be the case as Kenneth Zohore gave Cardiff the win in the 93rd minute. Watford ensured it was an unhappy return for former manager Marco Silva, whose Everton side were defeated by a goal to nil thanks to a goal from Andre Gray. West Ham United were held to a draw by Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park, when Wilfried Zaha equalised for the Eagles after Mark Noble had given West Ham the lead from the penalty spot.
Burnley have made it seven consecutive matches unbeaten, after winning 3-1 away to Brighton & Hove Albion in a match which was not short of controversy. Chris Wood gave Burnley the lead after Brighton defender Lewis Dunk slipped, before doubling Burnley's lead in the 61st minute. Brighton should have been awarded a penalty after Jeff Hendrick handled the ball in the penalty area, before just 15 seconds later Burnley went up the other end and were awarded a penalty of their own after Brighton goalkeeper Matt Ryan brought down Ashley Barnes (for which he was booked), and Barnes converted the resulting penalty. Shane Duffy scored a couple of minutes later to give Brighton & Hove Albion a consolation goal.
